“Engenharia: Falar É Fácil?!” gathers several knowledge areas from UMinho around Science Communication.

The 4th edition of “Engenharia: Falar É Fácil?!”, took place on November 16th in the André Cruz de Carvalho Room, in CP2 of the Gualtar campus, and gathered several elements from UMinho with interest or responsibilities in the area of science communication.

Opening this event was the Vice-President of the School of Engineering, Professor Estela Bicho, as well as Professor Elsa Costa e Silva, Director of the ICS Master of Science in Science Communication, who presented the results of a study that aimed to gather the scientific community’s perspective on the importance of Science Communication and on the training needs in this area.

The program included presentation sessions of science communication activities by some UOEI and sub-units of UMinho, including the Institute of Social Sciences, the School of Sciences, the School of Arts and Humanities, the School of Engineering (with the research centers/departments ALGORITMI, ISISE, CEB, DEB, DEI, and GCI), which was followed by a moment of sharing knowledge, experiences, ideas and strategies aimed at establishing the foundations of a collaborative platform to enhance science communication throughout the academy.

Engenharia: Falar É Fácil?!” is an initiative of the Communication Office of the School of Engineering of UMinho that aims to encourage and empower the entire academic community to communicate science.
