New Direction of the Department took office on April 9th

Hélder Carvalho, Assistant Professor, was elected Director of the Department of Textile Engineering for the 2021/2023 biennium. The management team also includes Joana Cunha, Assistant Professor of the DET, as Assistant Director.

In his speech, the new director starts by thanking the trust placed in him and recalls the recent effort of the entire department in the last few months, due to the projects carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic. Hélder Carvalho also paid homage and remembered his department colleagues who recently passed away.

The inauguration ceremony took place online and was attended by Pedro Arezes, Dean of the School of Engineering, and by António Vicente, Maribel Santos and Estela Bicho Erlhanger, Vice-Deans of the School of Engineering.
