University of São Paulo visiting Engineering School

Universities gathered to promote research projects and mobility of teachers and students

The School of Engineering received, on the 8th of October, the Polytechnic School (Poli-USP) and Faculty of Medicine (FMUSP) of the University of São Paulo. The Brazilian delegation, composed of Reinaldo Giudici, Vice Dean of the Poli-USP, Gilberto Francisco Martha de Souza, Director of Poli-USP Research Committee, Roseli de Deus Lopes, Poli-US Researcher, Roger Chammas, Vice Dean of FMUSP, Rossana Pulcineli Vieira Francisco, Director of the FMUSP Research Committee, was received by the Vice Dean of the School of Engineering, António Vicente, and the head of EEUM’s Internationalization Office, Sofia Barbosa Pereira.

The visit followed an invitation from UMinho’s Rectory, with the goal of enhancing existing collaborations, namely cooperation agreements aimed at promoting joint research projects, as well as the mobility of teachers and students.

The same institution also visited the University of Minho, on the 30th of October, in order to explore the possibilities of cooperation of the two universities in the areas of engineering and medicine. Vahan Agopyan, Rector of the University of São Paulo, and Laura Izarra, Vice President for International Relations, as well as Rui Vieira de Castro, Rector of the University of Minho, Carla Martins, Pro-Rector for Internationalization, Pedro Arezes, Dean of the School of Engineering, Nuno Sousa, Dean of the School of Medicine and Manuela Gomes, Dean of the Institute of Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics (I3B’s).
