Paulo Cortez was recently awarded the distinction ‘2025 Portuguese Excellence Professor of Artificial Intelligence in Spain’ by the Ramón Areces Foundation.

This distinction, awarded by the Spanish entity, recognises the outstanding research career in the field of Artificial Intelligence of the researcher at the ALGORITMI Centre, lecturer at the Department of Information Systems at the University of Minho.

As part of this distinction, a lecture entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence for Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics: Methods and Applications’ was held in July 2025 at three Spanish universities.

Paulo Cortez shared his vision at the University of A Coruña, the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) and the University of Malaga. You can find more information about the first lecture here
