The 3rd edition of Tomorrow Needs Welcome, the welcoming session for new members of the School of Engineering, this year aimed at 74 new teachers, researchers and administrative and management technicians, took place on 9 May at 2pm in Building 11.
Because it’s not just students who live in this ‘house’ that is UMinho’s School of Engineering, in this welcome session the Chair of the School of Engineering and the Chair’s services do the ‘onboarding’ in this institution, explaining UMinho’s organisational structure, the services, the people responsible for each procedure, the birth of the ‘Tomorrow Needs Engineering’ brand, where to find the institutional logos, among other institutional content and information, among other useful issues so that integration takes place in a very simple way and no one feels ‘helpless’.
And because welcoming is not just a briefing session, but should be reflected in daily well-being while working, each new EEUM member received a ‘special fiftieth anniversary’ welcome kit, consisting of a laptop backpack, T-shirt (you have to wear the shirt!), mug (for coffee or tea!), USB-C stick, notepad, pencil and neckband.
Welcome to the biggest school in the best academy in the country!
