Alcino Cunha approved in the Habilitation Exams

Manuel Alcino Pereira da Cunha, Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, was unanimously approved by the members of the Jury for the habilitation exams in the field of Computer Science.

The public habilitation exams in the field of Computer Science, requested by Dr Manuel Alcino Pereira da Cunha, took place on 15 and 16 July in the Sala de Atos of the Azurém Campus of the University of Minho, Guimarães.

The jury was chaired by Dr Pedro Manuel Rangel Santos Henriques, Full Professor in the Department of Informatics at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, and the members were Dr Nuno Manuel Ribeiro Preguiça, Full Professor in the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon; Dr José Nuno Fonseca de Oliveira, Full Professor, Department of Informatics, School of Engineering, University of Minho; Dr João Miguel Lobo Fernandes, Full Professor, Department of Informatics, School of Engineering, University of Minho; Dr Daniel Nicolas Jackson, Full Professor, Dept. of Electrical Eng. & Computer Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States of America; and Dr José Luíz Lopes Fiadeiro, Full Professor of Computer Science, University of Dundee, United Kingdom.

The Habilitation degree is awarded to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate relevant activity in terms of advanced research, training or guidance, and the authorship of scientific work of recognised quality after obtaining a doctorate.
