The “Biotechnology in Action” conference, part of the Economy Weeks, showed at Forum Braga how collaboration between science, companies and innovation is shaping the future of the bioeconomy in Portugal. The event featured speeches by António Vicente, Vice-President of the School of Engineering and researcher at CEB – Centre for Biological Engineering, Nuno Cerca, Director of CEB, and Joana Azeredo, Director of DEB – Department of Biological Engineering.
The IBEROBIO cross-border project, coordinated at UMinho by CEB researcher José Teixeira, was thus in the spotlight on a day packed with panels, pitch sessions, round tables and matchmaking, with the participation of startups, research centres and SMEs in the sector.

In addition to EEUM’s Centre for Biological Engineering, Colab4Food, P-BIO, Startup Braga, CBMA, iBMS took part in this conference, inspiring the next generation of biotech solutions.
