Fábio Coelho, researcher at the High-Assurance Software Lab (HASLab) of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho participated in the 2nd edition of Meetup Distributed Systems Lisbon, which took place last December 18, at grow.inc spaces in Lisbon.
This event, organized by MemSQL in Portugal, a database company based in California, aimed to boost the work that has been developed in the area of distributed systems, specifically in the areas of research and application, thus enhancing the discussion of important issues among the community.
The participation of Fábio Coelho, with the theme Polyglot Data Management, approached the needs of data processing and storage that comes from the use of cloud computing infrastructure to host and scale the processing in databases.
In addition, this participation also aimed at boosting HASLab’s competencies in this area of research and strengthening partnerships and, specifically, co-supervision of master’s works, between HASLab and partners in the industry active in the same area of work.
It should be mentioned that this event has a regularity of two months and the second edition had the participation of about 20 people.
