The University of Minho was in Arcos de Valdevez to strengthen the dialogue with the Municipality and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

At the meeting, which was attended by the pro-rectors Carlos Alberto Videira and Raul Fangueiro, the vice-president of the School of Engineering, Hélder Puga, and the Mayor, Olegário Gonçalves, the role of the University of Minho as an institution that generates innovation and scientific knowledge was highlighted, putting research, knowledge transfer and the training of qualified talent at the service of the development of companies and the competitiveness of the territory.

The Vice-President of the School of Engineering was also present at the inauguration of the new Bojador Building, by Nexteam Portugal, in Arcos de Valdevez. The ceremony was attended by the president of the Nexteam Group, Ludovic Asquini, the Assistant Secretary of State and Labour, Adriano Rafael Moreira, the Secretary of State for the Environment, João Manuel Esteves, and the mayor of Arcos de Valdevez, Olegário Gonçalves.

During the ceremony, Ulisses Freitas, Managing Director of Nexteam in Portugal, highlighted that the Boujdour designation symbolizes the courage to overcome limits and face new challenges, reflecting the ambition associated with this new stage of the company.

The presence of EEUM reaffirms the willingness to deepen the collaboration with Nexteam through the training of talent and the development of innovative solutions for the aeronautics, space and defense sectors.
