The new board of the ALGORITMI centre took office on 3 October in the meeting room of the School of Engineering’s President’s Office, with Paula Fernanda Varandas Ferreira, a lecturer in the Production and Systems Department, as Director, and António Carlos da Silva Abelha, from the Computer Science Department, Paulo Alexandre Ribeiro Cortez, from the Information Systems Department, and Vitor Duarte Fernandes Monteiro, from the Industrial Electronics Department, as Deputy Directors.
The meeting room was too small to accommodate all the members of the ALGORITMI centre, researchers and administrative and management staff, as well as the outgoing director, José Machado, who wanted to witness the new board take office.
The president of the School of Engineering, Professor Pedro Arezes, congratulated the new board and wished them every success, guaranteeing the presidency’s commitment to monitoring ALGORITMI’s progress, particularly in the challenges that arise in the development of its activity. The outgoing board was thanked for its great dedication over the last few terms, both by the President of the School of Engineering and by the new Director of ALGORITMI.
