The scientist Felismina Moreira, from the BioMark Group of the Center for Biological Engineering of EEUM, in partnership with other universities and a company, is developing innovative, fast and low cost tests to monitor antibodies to Covid-19, in serum or saliva.
The major innovation of the TecniCov Project, which received 450,000 euros of funding from the National Innovation Agency, focuses on the use of synthetic materials of high affinity for antibodies produced in vivo.
This will allow the production of rapid tests with high sensitivity and reduced cost, and may ensure a future production capacity of these tests on a global scale.
