Whether physical or virtual, you can learn a little more about the history of computers and smartphones in two museums that are unique on the national and even international scene. They clearly bring together objects with a history!

Preserving history, promoting equipment and giving them the real importance they had in our lives. At the University of Minho, there are two museums that bring together authentic gems of information technology and smartphones.

The Computer Museum and the Smartphone Museum are distinct projects, but with similar missions: to preserve and disseminate the history of the objects that make up their collection. João Varajão, coordinator of the development projects for these museums, researcher at the Algoritmi research center and professor at the Department of Information Systems (DSI) at UMinho’s School of Engineering, says it all.
