Nuno Cerca took office on 8 September as Director of the Centre for Biological Engineering (CEB).

The management team also includes Deputy Directors Ana Júlia Cavaleiro, Lígia Rodrigues and Mariana Henriques, all researchers at CEB, reinforcing the leadership of one of the most dynamic research centres in the country.

Part of the School of Engineering, the CEB works in the areas of biotechnology and bioengineering for the environmental, health, industrial and food sectors. It has more than 400 researchers and a vast number of research projects and collaborations, playing a central role in scientific and technological innovation at national and international level.
