The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Management course – non-accredited degree, 2nd cycle specialized training level – designed and created from scratch in cooperation with the company BOSCH, aims to prepare professionals with knowledge and expertise to face and carry out procurement processes in highly dynamic contexts, especially oriented to support the competitiveness and business sustainability of a company.
This course is part of the training offer equivalent to the 2nd cycle of the University of Minho, fitting in with its mission of training highly qualified professionals, capable of responding to the complex challenges of the global market and contributing to innovation and efficiency in organizations and their operations.
The creation of this course is a direct response to the growing complexity and sophistication of procurement and supply chain processes, which, today, given their nature, require highly specialized professionals, with advanced technical skills, with a strategic business vision and with knowledge and expertise of state-of-the-art digital tools. The course aims to consolidate the link between academic training, applied research and the needs of the business sector, promoting an approach that combines advanced theory, case studies, data analysis and proven management practices.
The course aims to provide its students with strategic, operational and analytical skills that allow them to act autonomously, effectively and innovatively in the management of business procurement, preparing them to face the challenges of contemporary markets, with particular emphasis on the development of advanced skills in procurement and supplier management, in the training of its students in the use of digital tools and business procurement systems, and in the monitoring and analysis of data, in the promotion of planning capacity and the analysis of business perspectives, aligning purchasing decisions with business objectives, in the development of essential transversal skills – advanced negotiation, risk analysis, communication, leadership, etc. – and, finally, in increasing the critical and analytical capacity of students, in solving complex problems and in the innovation of business procurement processes.
In addition to the School of Engineering, this course has the collaboration of several other organic units of the University of Minho, namely the School of Economics, Management and Political Science, the Institute of Social Sciences, the School of Psychology and the School of Law.
Application for the academic year 2026/27:
1st Application Phase: June 29th to July 17th, 2026
2nd Application Phase: September 1st and 7th, 2026, for the remaining vacancies of the 1st phase.

The following documents must be included in the application process:
- a) Copy of the certificate of qualifications, indicating the final average and a breakdown of the subjects taken and their classification;
- b) Detailed curriculum vitae;
- c) Copy of the Citizen Card;
- d) Document attesting to the level of knowledge of the Portuguese language, when it is not the official language, in the case of international candidates;
- e) Copy of passport or legally equivalent identification document.
Without prejudice to the provisions of an applicable international convention, the documents mentioned in paragraph a) must be legalized under the terms of the Code of Civil Procedure: “Authentic documents issued in a foreign country, in accordance with the law of that country, are considered legalized provided that the signature of the public official is recognized by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular agent in the respective State and the signature of this agent is authenticated with the respective consular white seal”.
