Recognitions, awards and tribute to Guimarães Rodrigues on EEUM’s anniversary

The School of Engineering celebrated its 49th anniversary on 4 October with a programme that aimed to pay tribute to those who have marked EEUM’s past, recognise those who currently contribute to its success, and plan for the future with the involvement of the entire academic community.

At the ceremony, awards and diplomas recognising merit were presented to members of the EEUM community, namely diplomas recognising Pedagogical Merit, diplomas recognising Scientific Merit, the António Guimarães Rodrigues Scientific Publication awards, the Pedagogical award, and the TAG Employee Performance award. Recognition diplomas were also awarded to institutions and companies that work closely with the school.

The programme also included the presentation of the EEUM Fiftieth Anniversary graphic identity, as well as the members of the community who will be part of the Commemorative Committee for the 50th anniversary of the School of Engineering, namely: Maribel Yasmina Campos Alves Santos, Professor in the Department of Information Systems, as Chair of the Committee, and Ana Alexandra Ferreira Carvalho Rodrigues, Coordinator of the Office for Communication and Interaction with Society; Ana Paula Brites Martins, Secretary of the School of Engineering; António Fernando Macedo Ribeiro, Professor in the Department of Industrial Electronics; Carlos António Alves Bernardo, Professor Emeritus; João Miguel Pereira, Researcher at ISISE; Leonor Cunha Lapa Carneiro, Senior Technician in the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Luís Manuel Dias Coelho Soares Barbosa, Professor in the Department of Computer Science; Raúl Manuel Esteves Sousa Fangueiro, Professor in the Department of Textile Engineering and Vice-President of the School of Engineering; Soraia Vieira Fiúza de Sousa, Director of Communication at AAUMinho, as members of this committee whose main objective will be to outline the Programme for the Commemorations of EEUM’s 50th Anniversary.

This programme should take place 6 months before and after the school’s 50th anniversary, i.e. between April 2025 and March 2026.
