School of Engineering with strong presence at AltoMinho Science Fest

The UMinho School of Engineering was present at the 1st edition of the Alto Minho Science Fest, a three-day event open to Science and Technology, which inspired schools, families and all curious people!

From 20 to 22 March, the AltoMinho Science Fest took place at the Centro Ciência Viva dos Arcos, in Arcos de Valdevez, with the participation of Alexandre Ferreira da Silva, professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering and researcher at CMEMS, José Machado and Paulo Novais, professors of the Department of Computer Engineering and researchers at the ALGORITMI centre.

On the same day, at 9:30 pm, the round table “Arcuenses with Science – the Future is Now!” was attended by Arcuenses who are world leaders in science, to discuss the future of science and share inspiring ideas on how research and knowledge shape our tomorrow, with the participation of José Machado, professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and researcher at the ALGORITMI center of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, and moderated by Margarida Pinto Correia.

On March 22, at 10 am, it was the turn of Paulo Novais, professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and researcher at the ALGORITMI center of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, along with other renowned national figures in the field, to take part in the round table “Artificial Intelligence in Education”, moderated by Vera Novais, science journalist.

Finally, from March 20 to 22, the Science and Technology Exhibition had the presence of the UMinho School of Engineering in a stand, represented by the Biological Engineering Center, ALGORITMI Center, Institute of Polymers and Composites and Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Aerospace Engineering.
