Tiago Filipe Silva Miranda, professor at the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering, completed the habilitation exams of Civil Engineering Knowledge Branch, approved by unanimity of the jury members.

The habilitation exams took place on January 31 and February 1 in mixed format (live and videoconference) and had as members of the jury Pedro Miguel Ferreira Martins Arezes, Full Professor of the Department of Production and Systems of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; Manuel António Matos Fernandes, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Porto; Luís Joaquim Leal Lemos, Full Professor of the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra; Luís Guilherme de Picado Santos, Full Professor of the Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geo-Resources Department of Instituto Superior Técnico; Paulo António Alves Pereira, Full Professor of the Civil Engineering Department of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Paulo José Brandão Barbosa Lourenço, Full Professor of the Civil Engineering Department of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

The habilitation degree is granted to professors to whom a high merit professional curriculum demonstrating relevant research activity, advanced training or supervision is recognised, along with the authorship of high quality scientific papers after obtaining a doctoral degree.
