Collect and value disposable masks with CVR and To Be Green

This month, schools in Guimarães county began receiving ecopoints for the collection of community and disposable masks.

After this collection, the CVR – Centre for Waste Valorisation will create products and solutions that can be used that are based on the textile fibres of these materials, recovering this waste in briquettes, as it has done in the past with other initiatives.

This collection is linked to the “Collect and Value” project which, in addition to the CVR, has other partners such as the Landscape Laboratory and the spin-off of EEUM To Be Green, seeking to reduce the impact on ecosystems of the increasing use of masks which has become a growing waste due to Covid-19.
