Aires Fernando Fernandes Leite Camões Azevedo, Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, was unanimously approved by the members of Jury in the Habilitation Exams in the branch of knowledge of Civil Engineering, held on 18 March 2026.

The jury was chaired by was chaired by Dr José Fernando Gomes Mendes, Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Minho, and comprised the following members: Dr Jorge Manuel Caliço Lopes de Brito, Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georesources at the Instituto Superior Técnico; Dr Romeu da Silva Vicente, Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Aveiro; Dr Joaquim António Oliveira de Barros, Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Minho; Dr Maria Manuela de Oliveira Guedes de Almeida, Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering, University of Minho; and Dr Maria do Rosário Veiga, Coordinating Researcher at LNEC – National Laboratory for Civil Engineering.

The Habilitation degree is awarded to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate relevant activity in terms of advanced research, training or guidance, and the authorship of scientific work of recognised quality after obtaining a doctorate.
