Awards ceremony for EEUM students on the 52nd anniversary of UMinho

As part of the celebrations for the 52nd anniversary of the University of Minho, which took place on 18 February at the University of Minho’s Rectorate in Braga, the Guimarães City Council Award was presented. This award recognises the top-performing student on the first-cycle courses taught at the Guimarães Campus.

The award, given to the student who completes the course with the highest mark — provided it is 16 or above — was presented by the Mayor of Guimarães, Dr Ricardo Araújo.

This year, the award went to Mariana Ariza Martins, a student on the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering, who completed the course with an outstanding final mark of 18.67.

In addition to her outstanding academic performance, Mariana Ariza Martins also stands out for her contribution to academic life, currently holding the position of Internal Vice-President of the Industrial and Computer Electronics Engineering Students’ Association at the University of Minho (NEEEICUM).

Martim Pinto, a student on the Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, was also awarded the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Prize, which recognises Social Action scholarship holders with the highest average marks in the 2024–2025 academic year across the University of Minho’s undergraduate programmes, one per Teaching and Research Unit, which in the case of EEUM was awarded to Martim Pinto, who achieved a grade of 18.55

The School of Engineering at UMinho congratulates these students on their dedication, merit and exemplary academic record, wishing them continued success in their future professional and scientific careers.
