The student Manuel Silva, from the Integrated Master in Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering was distinguished with the Best Internship North award last November 23rd, at the Regional Engineer Day 2021 that took place at Forte Santiago da Barra, in Viana do Castelo.

The event brought together about 250 engineers with the aim not only of celebrating Engineering, but also of honoring, distinguishing and recognizing the engineers of the OERN.

The opening session of this day of celebration was in charge of Fernando Fonseca, the OERN’s District Delegate of Viana do Castelo, Joaquim Poças Martins, President of the EBN’s Directive Council, Gerardo Saraiva de Menezes, President of the Board of the Northern Regional Assembly and Luís Nobre, Mayor of Viana do Castelo.

Almiro Nina, António Campos e Matos, António Machado e Moura, Fernando Veloso Gomes, Francisco Pimenta, João Falcão e Cunha, João Rocha, José Tentúgal Valente, Manuel Moras, Raimundo Delgado (in memorian), Teresa Mota and Vitor Hugo Gomes, were the honored of this year and received from the hands of Joaquim Poças Martins, Fernando Fonseca, Pilar Baylina, Manuela Mesquita, Carlos Afonso Teixeira and Raul Vidal the trophy that marked this moment.

But there were also other moments of great emotion, especially for the young engineers who have now completed their internship for admission to the Bar Association. The representatives of their colleges presented the awards for Best Internship North 2021, when the student from the School of Engineering went on stage to receive his prize.

There was also time for the presentation of awards for New Student Members, Effective Members, Members with 10 and 25 years of membership in the OE and Senior Member.

The ceremony was closed by Carlos Mineiro Aires, President of the Order of Engineers.

Manuel Silva was also recognized, at a national level, by the Order of Engineers (Electrotechnical College) last November 27th.
