Engineering School and Infraestruturas de Portugal strengthen collaboration

The University of Minho (UMinho) and Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) have signed a cooperation protocol in the field of scientific research in the areas of mobility, transport, energy, environment and construction.

The agreement – signed by the Vice-Rector of UMinho for Research and Innovation, Eugénio Campos Ferreira, and by the Vice-President of the Executive Board of Directors of IP, José Serrano Gordo – strengthens the cooperation and consolidates the ties of understanding between the two institutions.

The partnership, in effect for a period of three years, provides, among other things, program agreements for projects in areas of common interest; joint training and research actions; advisory services, training and technical and specialized support in the fields of transport infrastructure; and targeted research addressing case studies of the IP.

This protocol accentuates the connection of the School of Engineering, namely the Department of Civil Engineering, with society and is part of the IP’s policy of promoting partnerships with the scientific and technological communities, such as universities, polytechnic institutes, companies and technological institutions, allowing direct contact with scientific knowledge open to innovation and providing the means for the development and implementation of common projects.
