Second edition of the science and technology communication workshop was aimed to community of University of Minho
The launch of the challenge that gave the motto to the second edition of “Engineering: Speaking is Easy ?!” was held last April 3rd! The science and technology communication workshop organized by EEUM at the Azurém Campus in Guimarães challenged all members of the academic community to submit one of the three proposed research projects.
The opening session was conducted by Paulo Sampaio, EEUM Vice-Dean, that highlighted the relevance of this workshop and potentiality of a good communication, mainly in the results of I&D projects and the knowledge dissemination.
In addition to presenting the challenges to the teams, the first phase of the event also included workshops by researchers from INL – Instituto Internacional Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, from STOL – Science through our lives, Braga Toastmasters, and several other speakers who spoke on issues such as the importance of science and technology communication and how to involve society in science and innovation.
The second phase of the event took place on April 26 and consisted of the presentation of the teams that select one of the three research projects of the School of Engineering: Heritage Care, Robotics-Autism and LabSec IOT.
This edition aimed to provide participants with knowledge and techniques that allow them to communicate in a more appealing way the knowledge produced in their investigations. The event was supported by Aptiv, Primavera BSS, gnration, Farmácia Narcisa C. Dias, CCV Curtir Ciência, and Madame Banana.
