Inauguration of the UMinho Seed co-creation space on the Azurém campus

As part of the celebrations marking the Rector’s team’s first 100 days in office, an event open to the entire academic community took place on 13 March, which included the inauguration of the UMinho Seed co-creation space on the Azurém campus. The Pro-Rector for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Knowledge Transfer, Professor Raúl Fangueiro, described this space as a venue not only dedicated to collaborative research, fostering multidisciplinary projects between research centres based on the Azurém campus, but also as a space that promotes entrepreneurship, serving as a base for any UMinho spin-offs that may emerge.

The University of Minho’s Rector’s Team thus marked the 100th day of its term of office on 13 March, presenting a brief overview of the activities carried out during this period, at the session held in Building 6 on the Azurém campus, where UMinho Seed is now located; the aim here is to foster a dynamic environment for interdisciplinary co-creation, linking research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The inauguration was followed by a ‘Verde de Honra’ reception, in an atmosphere of great closeness with the academic community present at this event, something that has also characterised the start of this term of office.

With the review presented, the new rector’s team sought to promote greater openness, closeness and transparency between the Rector’s Office and our students, researchers, lecturers and support staff.
