The “Job Fair – Tomorrow Needs You” event took place on 4 February, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, in the main hall of the Azurém campus (Guimarães), bringing together 88 companies and organisations offering over 3,800 opportunities for collaboration, internships and employment for students and graduates in Engineering, Technology and Design, amongst other fields.

Among the companies, several of which were making their debut, were Critical Techworks, Continental, Gestamp, Grupo Casais, Grupo Petrotec, Lufthansa Technik, Nexteam Group and ZF Lifetech, all keen to recruit talent for their businesses. Training and economic development organisations also took part, such as Guimarães Set.Up, InvestBraga and Start Esposende, facilitating retraining in new fields or the creation of one’s own business through entrepreneurial projects.

The event officially began at 10.00 am with the customary institutional tour of the participating companies’ stands by the School of Engineering’s management team, various members of the UMinho rectorate (Vice-Rector António Salgado and Pro-Rectors Carlos Videira, Lígia Rodrigues, Raúl Fangueiro, Sandra Fernandes, and Tiago Miranda), members of the municipal councils of Guimarães, Fafe, Famalicão and Santo Tirso, representatives from the Department of Economic Development of the municipality of Braga, the Portuguese Business Association, and business and industrial associations from the region.

The 13th edition of Employment Day once again met the expectations of the business community in attendance, as well as those of the students, establishing itself as a “must-attend event” for companies and students/alumni who have graduated in Engineering, Technology and Design from the UMinho School of Engineering.
