Luís Barbosa in “Livros com RUM – a Literatura e os Autores ao Vivo”

The seventh session of Books with RUM took place on 30 January at the Department of Informatics, with Luís Soares Barbosa, director of this department at UMinho’s School of Engineering.

As part of the celebrations for UMinho’s 50th anniversary, Rádio Universitária do Minho (RUM) is running a special cycle of the initiative “Livros com RUM – Literatura e os Autores ao Vivo” (Books with RUM – Literature and Authors Live), with interviews with authors linked to this academy.

Presenter António Ferreira invited Luís Soares Barbosa, a professor in the Department of Informatics (DI) at UMinho’s School of Engineering, to the seventh session. The conversation took place on 30 January at 5pm in the DI meeting room (building 7, floor 3) on the Gualtar campus in Braga.

The talk focussed on his two recent literary works – “Poetry: Long Days Short of Fear” (2022) and “Poetry Sells Little” (2023), published by Officium Lectionis. The aim was also to understand how a man of science feels and experiences the appeal of literary creation.

The event has the support of UMinho and dstgroup.
