Luís Paulo Peixoto dos Santos, Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, University of Minho, was unanimously approved by the members of the Jury in the Habilitation Exams in the branch of knowledge in Computer Science, held on 16 March 2026.
The jury was chaired by Dr João Miguel Lobo Fernandes, Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Engineering, University of Minho, and comprised the following members: Dr José António Barata de Oliveira, Full Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon; Dr Paulo Jorge Freitas de Oliveira Novais, Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Engineering, University of Minho; Dr José Manuel Ferreira Machado, Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Engineering, University of Minho; Dr Fernando Joaquim Lopes Moreira, Full Professor in the Department of Science and Technology at Dom Henrique University of Portucalense; Dr Maria Goreti Carvalho Marreiros, Principal Coordinating Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Higher Institute of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto; and Dr José Luis Calvo-Rolle, Full Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of A Coruña, Spain.
The Habilitation degree is awarded to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate relevant activity in terms of advanced research, training or guidance, and the authorship of scientific work of recognised quality after obtaining a doctorate.
