On 14th and 15th March the exams for Habilitation of Associate Professor of the School of Engineering, Mariana Contente Rangel Henriques, in the branch of knowledge in Chemical and Biological Engineering, took place. The lecturer of the School of Engineering was unanimously approved by the members of the jury.

The exams took place in Auditorium B2 of Building 2 of the Gualtar Campus of the University of Minho, Braga, with Dr. José António Couto Teixeira, Full Professor of the Department of Biological Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, as President of the Jury, and Dr. Lígia Maria Ribeiro Pires Salgueiro da Silva Couto, Full Professor of the Laboratory of Bromatology and Pharmacognosis of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra, as voting members; Maria Norberta Neves Correia Pinho, Full Professor, Emeritus Professor of the Chemical Engineering Department of the Higher Technical Institute of the University of Lisbon; Doctor Luís Manuel Ferreira de Melo, Retired Full Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto; Doctor Eugénio Manuel de Faria Campos Ferreira, Full Professor of the Department of Biological Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Doctor António Augusto Martins de Oliveira Soares Vicente, Full Professor of the Department of Biological Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

The degree of Habilitation is attributed to lecturers with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate a relevant activity in research, training or advanced supervision, and the authorship of scientific papers of recognised quality after obtaining a doctoral degree.
