The Order of Engineers – Northern Region (OERN) awarded 52 Master’s Prizes to Engineering students from public higher education institutions in the Northern Region, in a ceremony held on July 2nd. The awards, worth 1,000 euros each, distinguish academic merit and strengthen the link between higher education and the business community.
In this second edition, 88 applications were received, and the students with the highest grades in their respective courses were awarded. The initiative was supported by the companies A400, Casais, JMSPower, KEO, MCA, Mota-Engil, NCREP, Painhas, Powerserv, Sopsec, Techonis and Vialsil.
The 52 distinguished students come from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), the University of Minho (UM), the School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and the Agrarian School of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC), reflecting the quality and diversity of engineering training provided in higher education institutions in the Northern Region.
The winners represent several areas of Engineering, including Civil, Electrotechnical, Informatics, Mechanics, Industrial Management, Environment, Biomedical and Bioengineering, Chemical and Biological, Aeronautics and Space, Food, Materials and Safety and Quality.
