Rui M. Lima, a researcher at the ALGORITMI Centre, has taken up the presidency of the Executive Committee of the IDEA-UMinho Centre (Centre for Innovation, Teaching and Learning Development).

An Associate Professor with Aggregation in the Department of Production and Systems at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, Rui Lima has been appointed president of the institution, which was established in 2017.

IDEA-UMinho’s mission is to promote professional development among teaching staff, establishing itself as a hub for resources and pedagogical innovation, focused on the continuous development of the teaching staff and the improvement of the educational experience.

The lecturer, who teaches in the areas of production management, project management and lean manufacturing, and whose research has been prominent in the field of Engineering Education, aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at the University of Minho, contributing to academic and professional excellence.
