The University of Minho is one of the institutions with the most PhD students awarded Fulbright Commission grants this year to carry out research in the United States of America. The students honoured are from the fields of Psychology, Neurosciences, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering and Materials Engineering. Four of the scholarships are also supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology.

For the Rector, Rui Vieira de Castro, “the Fulbright scholarships represent a significant contribution to the internationalisation of the research carried out by UMinho students, researchers and professors, allowing them to travel to North American universities and carry out joint research. At the same time, Fulbright scholars are cultural ambassadors for our country and for UMinho.”
