José Carlos Teixeira takes office as Director of MEtRICs

New direction of the The Mechanical Engineering and Resource Sustainability Center (MEtRICs) took office on the 27th

José Carlos Teixeira, Full Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the School of Engineering, was re-elected Director of the MEtRICs Center for the 2020-2023 triennium. The management team also has José Mendes Machado, Associate Professor with Aggregation in the Mechanical Engineering Department of EEUM, as assistant director.

In the inauguration speech, the new director begins by thanking the attendance, and by showing himself available to cooperate with the School of Engineering. Regarding future challenges, José Carlos Teixeira says that “we are going to enter an important period in the center of consolidating performance and preparing the future, not only for guidelines, but also for people”, guaranteeing that it will be in this mandate that “a lot of things will happen”.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the School of Engineering, Pedro Arezes, and the Vice-Deans, António Vicente and Estela Bicho Erlhangen.
