Habilitation exams took place on 30 and 31 October at the Noble Hall of the University of Minho.

On October 30th and 31st, in the noble hall of the University of Minho, in Largo do Paço, Braga, took place the habilitation exams of the knowledge branch in Civil Engineering required by Professor Luís Manuel Bragança de Miranda Lopes, Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of EEUM.

The Jury was composed by the Rector of the University of Minho and Professors Vítor Carlos Trindade Abrantes de Almeida, Jubilated Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto; Fernando António Baptista Branco, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georresources of the Higher Technical Institute of the University of Lisbon; Doctor Aníbal Guimarães da Costa, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Aveiro; Doctor José Manuel Pereira Vieira, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Doctor Paulo António Alves Pereira, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

Following the exams, the Jury decided unanimously to approve Professor Luís Manuel Bragança de Miranda Lopes.

The habilitation degree is granted to professors to whom a high merit professional curriculum demonstrating relevant research activity, advanced training or supervision is recognised, along with the authorship of high quality scientific papers after obtaining a doctoral degree.
