SPEE – Portuguese Society for Engineering Education elects EEUM faculty members

SPEE – Sociedade Portuguesa para a Educação em Engenharia (Portuguese Society for Engineering Education) is a non-profit association which aims to promote engineering education through pedagogical training and personal development of teachers, dissemination and collaboration in projects, exchange between national and foreign people and institutions and problem analysis and resolution in the field of engineering education.

On 4 November last, the General Assembly was held via the zoom platform, where, among other things, the new bodies were elected for the 2020/2022 mandate. Filomena Soares, professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics was elected chairman of the board, and Rosa Vasconcelos, professor of the Department of Textile Engineering was elected chairman of the general assembly.

The new team defined in its application six axes of action for this mandate: the internal management of the company; the promotion and dissemination of SPEE and its associates; the support to relevant conferences in Engineering Education; the dynamization of the Working Groups; the promotion of the second edition of national events, SPEEDI and FDEE; and, last but not least, the internationalisation of the company.
