On 27 and 28 February 2010, the Habilitation exams of Associate Professor of the School of Engineering, João Alexandre Baptista Vieira Saraiva, in the field of Computer Science, took place. The lecturer of the School of Engineering was unanimously approved by the members of the jury.
The exams took place in the Hall of Acts of the Azurém campus, having as President of the Jury João Miguel Lobo Fernandes, Full Professor of the Department of Computer Science of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, and as members João Manuel Paiva Cardoso, Full Professor of the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto; Luís Manuel Marques da Costa Caires, Full Professor of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon; o Doutor José Nuno Fonseca de Oliveira, Full Professor of the Computer Science Department of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; o Doutor Luís Manuel Dias Coelho Soares Barbosa, Full Professor of the Computer Science Department of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Doutor Johan Jeuring, Full Professor of the Department of Information and Computing Sciences, Utrech University, The Netherlands.
The degree of Habilitation is awarded to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate a relevant activity at the level of research, training or advanced supervision, and the authorship of scientific papers of recognised quality after obtaining a doctoral degree.
