Twenty years ago, the first Bioinformatics course was taught at UMinho, in the Biomedical Engineering course at the School of Engineering.

Taking advantage of this date, the Master’s Department and the Student Group (NEBIUM) organized a session entitled “20 years of Bioinformatics at U. Minho”, which took place on 30 April, in the afternoon, followed by a social programme in the evening, in Braga.

The aim of this initiative was to remember this journey, look to the future and make the area and the master’s degree known to 1st cycle students.

The research component included presentations of short-term highlights by each of the research centers, including the EEUM’s CEB, but also the ICVS and the CBMA.
