ALGORITMI researcher distinguished with Most Cited Paper award at 2026 SDEWES

Alaize Dall’Orsoletta, researcher at the ALGORITMI Centre, was awarded the Most Cited Paper award at the 21st Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems – 2026 SDEWES Conference, which took place in Gran Canaria, Spain.

The researcher received the award for the article entitled “Low-carbon technologies and just energy transitions: Prospects for electric vehicles” developed in partnership with Géremi Dranka, affiliated researcher at the ALGORITMI Center and Professor at the Federal Technological University of Paraná – UTFPR, Brazil, and Paula Varandas Ferreira, Full Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho and Director of the ALGORITMI Center.

The paper was presented at the 2021 SDEWES Conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and published in the journal Energy Conversion and Management: X in 2022, and focuses on the discussion of the issues associated with the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) from a lifecycle and energy justice perspective. To date, the paper has been cited by more than 130 papers and is available for download here.
