The School of Engineering attended the NEXT STEEEP event – Paços de Ferreira Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair – on 17 April, taking part in the session dedicated to the theme “The Future of Jobs in Industry: Focus on Technology and Research – Partnerships with the School of Engineering”.
This event, of great relevance to businesses and students in the region, highlighted the central role of engineering and innovation in the future of the municipality and its links to industries once regarded as more traditional in the region. The session sparked considerable interest among the local business community, which learned of new opportunities for collaboration with the School of Engineering at the University of Minho (EEUM). Following this talk, which was closely followed by over 100 participants, including students and company representatives, new forms of cooperation are already being prepared.
At the same time, the University of Minho and the School of Engineering also took part in the event with an institutional stand between 15 and 18 April, providing information on academic pathways, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and career opportunities. Over the four days, NEXT STEEEP welcomed around 3,500 visitors, cementing its position as a key platform linking education, employment and entrepreneurship.
