José Campos e Matos, professor at the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho and researcher at the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE), was awarded the Senior Scientist Award at the first conference of EUROSTRUCT – European Association for Quality Control of Bridges and Structures, held from August 29 to September 1, 2021, in Padova, Italy.

José Campos e Matos was distinguished for his efforts and achievements in transforming and extending the scientific community from COST Action TU1406 to the EUROSTRUCT association and for establishing the latter as a platform to promote the understanding and advancement of practice in quality control of bridges and structures at a European and global level.
