EEUM student wins 2nd place APREN Prize 2023 with doctoral thesis

Luís Barros, a PhD student in Electronic and Computer Engineering at the ALGORITMI Centre of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, won 2nd place in the APREN 2023 Award, in the category of best PhD Thesis.

The work, entitled “Smart Power Conditioners for Electric Railway Power Grids“, was supervised by Professor Gabriel Pinto, from the Department of Industrial Electronics at the University of Minho’s School of Engineering, and Professor António Pina Martins, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto’s Faculty of Engineering.

The awards ceremony took place on 23 February 2024 at the EPIC SANA Marquês hotel in Lisbon.
