Ana Marinho won the national university indoor track championship in the 3,000 metres with a time of 9:40:89 minutes, representing the University of Minho, on 3 February.
The 3rd year engineering student also took 4th place in the 800 metres with a mark of 2:17:03 m at the National University Indoor Track Championships at Expocentro in Pombal.
The Rosa Oliveira Athletics School had two of its athletes taking part in these Championships, with the highlights being João Azevedo, an under-20 athlete who is also a first-year student at the UMinho School of Engineering, who came 4th in the 3,000 metres with a personal best 8:23:41 m and 6th in the 800 metres, also with a personal best 1:57:31 m. Gil Lourenço Ferreira, from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Coimbra, achieved good results in the 400 and 800 metres.
On 16 March, Ana Marinho once again stood on the podium as the national university Short Course champion, in a competition that took place at the same time as the nationals in Mira.
The athlete, from Famalicão, represented the University of Minho and won the title for the Minho academy, also contributing to the team title and 3rd place for her club São Salvador do Campo. It should also be noted that Ana Marinha also stood on the podium in 2nd place at national level and was runner-up in the under-23 category.
Mira hosted the 24th National Short Course Championships, with around 1,000 athletes taking part, representing universities and clubs.
