The new head of the Department of Information Systems for the 2024-2025 biennium took office on 29 July at 2.30pm in the department’s meeting room.
Rui João Peixoto José, Associate Professor with Aggregation, is the new Department Director, with João Varajão, Associate Professor with Aggregation, and Maria João Nicolau, Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, as deputy directors, who remains from the previous board and will serve only one year of this new term.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several members of the department, including teachers and TAG, as well as the outgoing director. The President of the School of Engineering, Professor Pedro Arezes, gave the inauguration speech, the Vice-President, Professor António Vicente (also a Full Professor in this department) and the School Secretary, Dr Ana Paula Brites, conducted the ceremony.
