INISTA 2026 brought together about a hundred AI experts

The ALGORITMI Center, through LASI – Associated Laboratory of Intelligent Systems, organized between September 17th and 19th the INISTA Conference 2026 (International Conference on INnovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications).

The event brought together experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Guimarães, namely teachers, researchers and professionals from different countries, discussing recent advances associated with AI.

About 100 academics, and not only, from fifteen countries, such as Spain, Romania, Turkey, France, Brazil, Canada and Chile, were present, highlighting the participation of Francisco Herrera, one of the references of AI worldwide, from the University of Granada.

The opening session of the event, which took place at the Hotel de Guimarães, was attended by Pedro Arezes, Rector of the University of Minho, António Vicente, President of the School of Engineering, Paula Varandas Ferreira, Director of the ALGORITMI Centre, and the ALGORITMI researchers responsible for organizing the conference, Dalila Durães and Manuel Rodrigues.
