Graduation Ceremony brings together graduates and family members at the Azurém Campus

The School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM) held the graduation ceremony of its undergraduate students on the 19th, in the gardens of the Azurém campus, in Guimarães.

In the last academic year there were 888 graduates in the 15 degrees of the EEUM and most of them came to the ceremony, accompanied by their family and friends, in addition to course directors, former colleagues, and the rest of the academic community.

After the interpretation of the Anthem of the University of Minho by the UMinho Academic Choir, the program gave way to the interventions of the rector of UMinho, Professor Pedro Arezes, the president of the School of Engineering, Professor António Vicente, and the president of the Academic Association of UMinho, Luís Guedes.

This was followed by the delivery of certificates and graduation medals to all graduates present, with the usual group photo with the respective course directors.

Three alumni also shared their paths and experiences: Alexandra Roeger (executive director of Agere, graduated in Biological Engineering), Pedro Andrade (software engineer at Evoleo, graduated in Aerospace Engineering), and Mário Rodrigues (founder of IdealJob, graduated in Computer Engineering).

Closing this ceremony was the President of the Pedagogical Council, Professor Joana Cunha, with a last message of encouragement and congratulations to all graduates, followed by the performances of the tunas Afonsina and Tun’Obebes, helping the new graduates to celebrate the achievement of the “straw” and the beginning of a new stage.

The celebration continued with a Green of Honor in the gardens of the Azurém campus, where close to a thousand people, including graduates, family members, colleagues and the other academic community had the opportunity to fraternize and toast to future successes.

The School of Engineering congratulates, once again, all new graduates and wishes each one many academic and professional successes.
