Júlio César Machado Viana, Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, was unanimously approved by the members of the Jury, in the Habilitation Exams in the field of knowledge in Science and Engineering of Polymers and Composites, which took place on September 18th.

The jury of the tests was chaired by Dr. António Augusto Martins Oliveira Soares Vicente, Full Professor and President of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, and as members Dr. Albano Augusto Cavaleiro Rodrigues de Carvalho, Invited Full Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra; Dr. Fernando Jorge Lino Alves, Full Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto; Dr. Elvira Maria Correia Fortunato, Full Professor of the Department of Materials Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon; Dr. António Augusto Magalhães Cunha, Full Professor of the Department of Polymer Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Dr. Ana Vera Alves Machado Nóbrega, Full Professor of the Department of Polymer Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

The Habilitation degree is awarded to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate relevant activity in terms of advanced research, training or guidance, and the authorship of scientific work of recognised quality after obtaining a doctorate.
