On January 17 and 18 of this year the exams for Habilitation of the Assistant Professor of the School of Engineering, Paulo Jorge Gomes Ribeiro, in the field of Civil Engineering knowledge took place. The professor of the School of Engineering was unanimously approved by the members of the jury.

The exams took place in the B2 Auditorium of the Pedagogical Complex II of the Gualtar campus of the University of Minho. The President of the Jury was Dr. José Manuel Pereira Vieira, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, and as members Dr. José Alberto Rio Fernandes, Full Professor of the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto; o Doutor Fernando José Silva e Nunes da Silva, Retired Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geo-Resources of the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; o Doutor Vítor Manuel Pissara Cavaleiro, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Beira Interior; o Doutor Paulo António Alves Pereira, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho; and Doutor José Fernando Gomes Mendes, Full Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.

The degree of Habilition is awarded to professors with a professional curriculum of high merit who demonstrate a relevant activity at the level of advanced research, training or guidance, and the authorship of scientific papers of recognized quality after obtaining the doctoral degree.
