On 22 October, the Department of Civil Engineering took office in the meeting room at EEUM, with the re-election of Professor Rui Ramos as director and Professor Jorge Branco as deputy director.

The ceremony was attended by the President and Vice-President of the School of Engineering, Professor Pedro Arezes and Professor António Vicente, as well as the School Secretary, Dr Ana Paula Brites, along with many members of the teaching staff, administrative and management assistants and technicians from the Civil Engineering department, who wanted to congratulate the re-elected team.

The Department of Civil Engineering (DEC) was created in 1980 and is a national and international benchmark in several areas where its lecturers have excelled in teaching and research.
