On April 19, the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (UMinho), in collaboration with TecMinho, hosted a delegation from Chile made up of researchers specializing in the areas of Engineering and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), together with technology transfer professionals from the Universities of Valparaíso and Tarapacá.
This initiative took place as part of the Engineering 2030 Project, with the main objective of exploring the technology transfer ecosystems in the regions of Galicia and Northern Portugal.
As UMinho’s interface and one of the oldest university technology transfer structures in Portugal, TecMinho organized a knowledge and experience sharing session to demonstrate UMinho’s core competencies in the areas of interest to the delegation. The program included a presentation of the School of Engineering, a presentation of the main activities and initiatives developed by TecMinho and a successful case of knowledge transfer (ESI Robotics spin-off). At the end of the session, the participants also had the opportunity to visit the DONE Lab, a reference laboratory for additive manufacturing.
The exchange of experiences between the different ecosystems was seen as very enriching for both parties, demonstrating the vital role of TecMinho and the School of Engineering in establishing national and/or international partnerships in the fields of innovation, science and technology.
