Eighty companies were in Guimarães. Job Day also included speed interviews, presentations and a round table

 More than 2500 job opportunities were presented on February 13, at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, in Guimarães. The proposals came from more than 80 national and international companies, such as APTIV, Bosch, Continental, Deloitte, Leica, Primavera and ZF. This Job Day featured company stands, personal interviews, information sessions, networking and a round table.

The inaugural visit was attended by the Rector of UMinho, Rui Vieira de Castro, the Dean of the EEUM, Pedro Arezes, the Mayor of Guimarães, Domingos Bragança, the Mayor of Barcelos, Miguel Costa Gomes and the Councillor of Municipality of Braga, Miguel Bandeira. This was followed by the round table “Formar Futuro: Cidades”, at the Main Hall, which focused on educational offer in the academic context and in shapping innovative, young and attractive cities, capable of creating an attractive future for the younger generations. The Main Hall also hosted the “Formar Futuro: Oportunidades” session with presentations from companies such as APTIV, Bosch, Continental, Deloitte, Primavera and ZF, who tried to seduce the most talented, innovative and highly trained candidates.

The work proposals listed 1248 positions for employment contracts, 592 for professional internships, 330 for summer internships and 250 for dissertations in the company. The target audience for Job Day was the academic community, unemployed people, recent graduates, entrepreneurs and high school students.

EEUM is the largest School of University of Minho, with nine research centers and nine departments responsible for offering courses in Biological, Civil, Industrial Electronics and Computers, Mechanics, Physics, Polymers, Textiles, Informatics, Industrial Management, Management of Information Systems, Biomedical, Telecommunications and Informatics, Materials and, also, Fashion Design and Marketing. For 45 years, it has trained engineers and researchers of recognized quality, collaborating with companies and in projects for the whole world.
