EEUM students win ACA Innovation Student Challenge

Students Sandra Costa, Maria Pereira, Maria Inês Torres and Francisca Falcão, from the 1st year of the Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, won the ACA Innovation Student Challenge.

This ACA Group challenge aimed to learn about innovative approaches applicable to the construction sector, such as new business proposals, new procedural and constructive solutions, new materials and emerging technologies, describing how they can be applied to the built environment (networks, buildings, roads and infrastructures), either during construction or throughout the built life cycle.

The prize consisted of a monetary amount, and the opportunity to develop a 9-month internship in a business context where they can continue working on the winning project, came up with the idea of presenting a sustainable brick made from end-of-life clothes, designed in a circular economy context of the Integrated Project of Industrial Engineering and Management (PIEGI1).
